HP media tray / feeder - 2000 sheets

Advantages: Reliable, good quality, fast, easy to use
Disadvantages: Only the dullish colour

...and white pages only it will print roughly 15 pages per minute (A4) and 7 with colour. It has photo quality print capability and the few pictures I’ve printed out so far have been excellent, even just onto Inkjet paper, glossy paper and its more than acceptable. The print tray on this machine is very deep, with good guidelines for different sizes of paper. It will hold up to 250 sheets at a time and for those needing high volume printing, it has an in build 8mb memory, which in my experience so far, is enough to stop your computer being backed up with spooling. I am as ever a fan of HP and the best thing for me about them and this printer itself, is its reliability. Providing you treat it with a little care and attention, it will serve you well. Advantages: Good Cost Effective Wide Format Printer
Disadvantages: On the large side - but then it is a Wide format printer!

...to deal with a huge variety of paper and card mediums, and in greatly varying sizes (as small as A6 and small envelopes up to oversize A3) So far I have used papers and cards with gsm's as small as 80 up to 350, which the printer has dealt with easily. There are three media input methods, the paper tray, output tray and rear paper feeder. The first of which can also cater for envelopes and the later of which is aimed for dealing with thicker single sheets or paper or other medium. To date i have used a multitude of mediums (plain, coated, two-sided brochure paper, photo, glossy, semi-gloss photo, heavy weight, transparencies) and experienced no problems at all. Advantages: Easy to use, easy to set up, lots of prints per cartridge
Disadvantages: Expensive, not really for home use

...through the printer. With some closer inspection we found that one of the print cartridges had exploded within the printer, the rollers and the paper tray were all filled with magenta powder, It didn't take long to clear it up, empty the paper tray of powder and run a few sheets through to get rid of the pink streaks that were being left on the prints. For a little while everything then seemed to be fine except the magenta cartridge was now very low and soon needed replacement. Unfortunately the very same thing happened again only a few weeks later, we did the same as we had before but then we phoned HP and requested an engineer come and sort out this problem. The printer has a one year warranty with a response time of the next day. We reported the problem on Thursday and the engineer arrived on Monday lunchtime, not quite the next day... Read review
