Advantages: Quiet, fast and great print quality
Disadvantages: Cartridges aren't particularly cheap

...feed difficulties in the 800 series (the pick up rollers got 'shiny' with contamination from the media - the problem is simply solved by cleaning them with alcohol on a cotton bud). The shape of HP's printers has gradually got more rounded, or perhaps it would be more accurate to say less square, but the overall design has stayed pretty constant - a tribute to the quality of the original design. They are not the smallest printers around, as the paper trays are horizontal, but they can be put flat against a wall as none of the cables protrude from the rear profile. Although this printer is up to the current standards, my feeling is that their whole range is getting more flimsy with the years. HP reliable as always

Advantages: Reliable, good quality, fast, easy to use
Disadvantages: Only the dullish colour

...and white pages only it will print roughly 15 pages per minute (A4) and 7 with colour. It has photo quality print capability and the few pictures I’ve printed out so far have been excellent, even just onto Inkjet paper, glossy paper and its more than acceptable. The print tray on this machine is very deep, with good guidelines for different sizes of paper. It will hold up to 250 sheets at a time and for those needing high volume printing, it has an in build 8mb memory, which in my experience so far, is enough to stop your computer being backed up with spooling. I am as ever a fan of HP and the best thing for me about them and this printer itself, is its reliability. Providing you treat it with a little care and attention, it will serve you well. Fan the paper before you put it in and it will rarely get jammed (HP’s in my experience... Read review
