Hewlett-Packard continues to supply its customers with a full range of accessories needed in the rapidly developing world to keep pace with time and provide efficient and dependable solutions.
Advantages: Multi tasking, quality, fast Disadvantages: availability, cost, has to be installed in pairs
...2002 and Rambus was to be the new gold standard in memory. My Dell 8200 had 256 mb RimmMemory. Alas the inferior DDR memory took over the market and all those who needed Rambus upgrades were left out. The cost of upgrading the Ram is just not worth it. Dell is the worst on pricing but others are also expensive for ECC modules. As the memory has to be installed in pairs, one cannot simply add a 1gb module but 2 512mbs. I gave up and bought a new PC with DDR3 Ram memory of 1gb and added another gigabyte of Orca memory for good measure and it was still cheaper than buying a memoryrimm upgrade alone. Rambus/Rimm nice idea for would be lottery winners. My advice turn your Rambus PC into a Linux back up and buy a new Computer and add Hypertec, Orca or Kingston DDR3 ram modules and have a meal out on the money left over...

Advantages: reliable, very upgradable, fast and very over-clockable. Disadvantages: no HT support, only USB 1.1, did anybody get built in LAN?
...BIOS and offers RAID support.
No problems with installation - I used boxed Intel CPU's and the heatsink/fan units were easy to clip down. Just a matter of pushing two levers! I did scrape off the Intel thermal compound and added a thin layer of artic silver all over the top of the CPU. The Rambusrimms slotted in just like good old Dimms. They have built in heatsinks as they get quite hot. I used 4x 128mb rimms to keep costs down. This gave me 512mb of RAM. If you only use 2 rimms, you will need to use the C-Rimms (continuity rimms) to terminate the other 2 empty slots. These are included with the board. The Rambusmemory is fast - equivalent to PC3200! You need to use matched pairs though and 128mb are the best value. 256mb isn't too bad but 512mb is very expensive.
I disabled the built in sound immediately, and used a Creative Sound...

Advantages: Cheap, a good speed increase, easy to fit Disadvantages: Not many disadvantages really
....
If you motherboard accepts 66 or 100mhz then generally it will also accept 133mz type though it will run at the lower speed. That is not a guarantee though.
66 or 100mhz ram will not work in a motherboard that needs 133mhz.
Types of RAM
************
There are many types the most common and used is called SDRam, which comes in 3 speeds 66, 100 and 133mhz.
There is also memory such as:
EDO ram (used in older machines)
DDR ram (used in Athlon C motherboards)
Rambus (used in Pentium 4s for the time being only)
There are also a few other types that are pretty much obsolete.
If you are buying more RAM for a Pentium 4 system be warned you need to buy them in pairs at the moment for the majority of systems. If you want 256 then you need 2x128 Rimms. I know it’s confusing isn’t it.
I will end this opinion by saying...

I had heard some mixed reports about Steven Speilberg and Tom Hanks latest collaboration, but was sufficiently intrigued to add it to my DVD rental list.
Tom Hanks plays Viktor Navorski from the small independent (and fictitious) state of Krakozhia more
