...In my line of work I come across a range of computers. Working with companies across the south I usually recommend Hewlett Packard machines when organising a roll-out, or even for individual purchases.
The reason for this is because they are very solid. Hewlett Packard spends a great deal of time developing these machines and they're very very reliable.
I recently worked with the UK office of a world-wide health and fitness company. The project was to provide new machines for their till's and sales computers for all of the clubs across the UK. A list of machines was put together and the DX2000MT was chosen.
It's a mini tower P4 2.8Gig, with 512 meg Ram and 40gig Hard drive. Expansion is easy. 4 USB 2.0 sockets on the back and 2 on the front. With it's screwless case it's easy to get into, but I must say that the machine...

...will phone HP Tech Support and query this. Even at 1024, the text and graphics are not as crisp as they should be, in my opinion and comparing the same images on my old Dell. I have turned off font-smoothing (significant difference!), and updated the video drivers (more improvement), but its not as clear as it should be.
Additionally, there is n
o function to adjust the contrast of the screen. Brightness, yes. Contrast, no. Not good.
Speed: Its slow. Granted, it is a Celeron processor, but this 2.8GHz machine still runs slower than my old Dell with 0.8GHz P3 processor and half the RAM. Additionally, I went online and discovered that the hard-drive speed is only 4200 rpm! I need to take this up with the shop I bought it from - they should have mentioned this! However, in their defence, Dell's Inspiron models also come with 4200 rpm HDDs...

DOUBLES IT!
Not only is this laptop spec'd up to the max, but it is from a truely great company.HP. I own many hp products and have not yet found one hat doesn't do its job fantastcally. I am sure this is no exception. Also with the HP rand, you get a fll one year warranty that covers all f the system from failure.
Now... where to start on such a fantastic product?...
Well, the laptop has a beautiful 17" anti-glare WUXGA screen which is perfect for gaming, buisness, or home entertainment.
The prosccor is increadibly fast offering a blistering 2.6ghz and 6mb cache, this allows almost any function to work seemlessly, from gaming to movies, to graphic design, this procssesor will not let you down.
It also has a mega 4gb of ram, this allows...
