...RECENTLY THE BATTERY IN MY SONY VAIO LAPTOP FAILED AFTER 4 YEARS AND I HAD TO BUY A NEW ONE. IT WAS PRICEY BUT QUALITY IS EXCELLENT AND 4 YEARS FROM THE ORIGINAL SEEMS LIKE A GOOD LENGTH OF TIME TO ME.
WHEN I SAY PRICEY I AM BASING IT ON A FRIENDS COMPAQLAPTOP WHOSE NEW BATTERY WAS ABOUT 30% CHEAPER THAN MY SONY. BUT HIS BATTERY ORIGINALLY ONLY LASTED 3 YEARS
SO I SUPPOSE MY SONY BATTERY REPRESENTS BETTER VALUE THAN THE COMPAQ. ALSO MY VAIO LAPTOP IS BETTER THAN THE COMPAQ MY FRIEND HAS.

The battery is a 6 cell high performance Li-IonBattery and there is the option to purchase a secondary 8 cell battery. This secondary battery has HP fast charge technology, which means you can charge the battery up to 90% in just 90 minutes (which in case you're not too sure is very fast) and the battery boasts an additional 4 hours of battery life on top of the time provided by a normal battery, designed to keep the user mobile for days.
