Full review
I think this is a good budget printer - whoever came up with the All-In-One concept needs a pat on the back - I hope I can help you come to your own conclusion. Here's a summary of my experiences.

Aesthetics
The design is excellent for the purpose. I can't say it's the most sophisticated but it does the job and the paper tray can be folded up making it compact and storable if necessary. The All-in-One is quite large for a modern printer but on a budget you can't complain.

Quality
There is the option to choose the standard to which copies are made. The quality of printing has to be adjusted on whatever computer programme you are using (e.g Word). The quality is great for standard documents but for photographs I recommend setting the programme to 'Best print quality' to get the best results. The qulity really depends on a combination of camera, paper quality, printer and computer settings, so it's difficult to judge fairly without doign controlled experiments - which I dont' have the money or time for.

Reliability
Hasn't broken down on me. Yet. All i can say really. Though I did once see this splurt of ink on the inside which I only noticed when changing the ink cartridge. I cleaned it off, and it hasn't happened again, so maybe it was my fault. I may have got the paper jammed due to my own impatience or something which set it off.

Ease of Use
Buttons in the side are clearly labelled and pretty self-explanatory. I have heard to complaints about the software but personally i have had no problems. However, the editing programme which pops up directly after scanning is something I have never really used - I prefer to use my own so I cannot give a fair judgement of it having only used it a few times.

Features
You can't really ask much more than having a scanner, photocopier and printer all in one. The option to choose black & white or colour photocopying is useful, as well as the adjustable quality settings if you just want a basic draft. I never realised how useful a copier at home could be. My entire family has employed me a chief copier now for ANYTHING that they might need two copies of. It's obviously something you can get addicted to.

Problems
I, being a student and by no means well off, often choose to buy the cheaper shop-brand ink cartridges which work in this printer. The manufacturers, however, have chosen to be somewhat bitter about this and therefore when you replace them you get a lovely littel pop-up to remind you that you shoudl align them. (Something I'm certain I can cope with without being reminded every time I turn the damn thing on). Now one pop-up I can deal with. The obligatory 'alignment test page' that is printed to go with it, however, i cannot. In order to save both ink and paper, I have to press the 'cancel' button as soon as I switch it on. Not fun.
The HP cartridges I have bought, I take to a shop near me which refills them for somewhat cheaper and give you them back. I find this to a far healthier and envrironmentally friendly practice, and yet these - despite starting out as HP cartridges, bring me the same problem and I am forced to press 'cancel' every time I turn the printer on to prevent the same sheet being printed and wasting even more of my precious ink.

Overall, this is a good machine - as long as you are willing to pay full price for genuine HP cartridges or have found a way to prevent this incessant test page from printing unecessarily. (If anyone has found a solution I would be glad if you would let me know!)
