Speed up the performance of even your most data-intensive software applications with a processor upgrade from HP. This System Drawer Level Upgrade will upgrade existing 4-MB or 8-MB cache capable System Drawer to 16-MB cache capable System Drawer.
Advantages: very fast processor support, hyper theading technology, everything to do with it. Disadvantages: some limited support for older hardware and even software in some cases
...865GBFLK, I was very happy about the price as well.
So I went straight for it and brought it, I did look at the specifications though, just to check if they supported my processor, ram and everything else.
♦ Details ♦
This board supports Celeron and Pentium four processors, and with a BUS speed of 800 MHz (max), you will be astounded by the speeds that this processor can support, and with the BIOS setting for hyper-threading technology, you’ll get even faster speeds. This board supports one processor max, with none coming with it; you need to buy your own.
The ram type in this board id DDR SDRAM, supporting memory of up to 4GB, and with two slots, you can upgrade loads with this board. This ram in this computer is fast as well, supporting speeds of up to DDR400/PC3200, you will never be let down by performance...

...prefer the athlon for performance however as usual there are always people argueing for both. Price wise the Athlon is around £20-40 cheaper, depending on supplier. They both run at around the same speed (actual operating speed - not just what they claim to run at). They both have Hypertransport/Hyperthreading for multitask performance improvement. The athlon though (especially on the board mentioned) is much easier to overclock and can improve performasnce effortlessly. This processor is perfect for any multi-use system, although for someone who is a higher end gamer or graphics manipulator i would recommend the 3400+ (about an extra £40 for an extra 400mhz), however the system will have dependancy on the graphics card - better graphics cards are required for the Graphics/Game users anyway. Graphics I recommend the Sapphire x800 pro (pricey...

Advantages: Dual Core, Low power usage* and Fast! Disadvantages: Motherboards can be costly for this!
...I used this processor to build a completely new computer for xmas (a present for myself ha ha!) and when i first opened the box it was the usual core. In the package there was the core, cool silver gel, heatsink (fan) and the instructions.
I had to buy a new motherboard anyway but be wary the motherboards for the AM2 versions can be rather pricey but the advantage of AM2 means that a lower power usage and so a cooler processor and less fans needed! Also the AM2 board means that the memory accepted is the newer DDR2 RAM which is roughly the same price as DDR RAM but faster! Excellent!
Installing the processor was little trouble and there were no problems.
The performance of the processor is excellent, dual cores are excellent things! I bought this after thinking about buying a dual core pentium however they are very similar...

For a while now I have been receiving private mails on both Dooyoo and on Ciao asking me to review the Sony A200 DSLR camera, this is because I have made mention of it in a few of my camera reviews lately but never actually got down to doing a full write more
My experience of this card is currently only short lived as i only received it 3 days ago, but my its a goody!
Compared to the shoddy 5 year old relic that was my old system (AMD Athlon XP 2800 with GeForce 4 Ti4600) this system wipes the floor with it more
