...The HP ScanJet 8300 is a Professional Image Scanner from HP's Scan jet series. This is one of the top end ScannersHP manufacture and is ideal for the business domain. There is also an 8300gp model of this scanner which is a Graphic Arts scanner and has a monitor color-meter calibrator as a added feature ideal for graphic designers.
Now about the HP ScanJet 8300, the scanner has an OR (Optical Resolution) of 4800x4800dpi and will scan high dynamic range in 48bit colour. This is fine for transparency and negative scanning.
The scanner has a max reflection area of around A4 size. HP includes film holders which will hold 3 strips, 6 frames of a 35mm film. The holders can be placed in the base of the scanner for storage.

Advantages: Versatile, sturdy and reliable, excellent quality images Disadvantages: pricey, perhaps a bit bulky
...With a resolution of up to 2400 x 2400 dpi, 48-bit colour and an XPA transparencyadapter included, this is an excellent quality A4 flatbed colour scanner that I would recommend for either home or business.
Transparencies, plain paper or cardboard, bulk objects (books etc.), film (35 mm negatives and slides), it can scan virtually anything…
The quality of the scans is excellent, with very good colour sensitivity, and the process itself is quite fast (it gives you a preview in few seconds, and you can do about two full A4 pages / min).

...Thanks for clicking! It's a review of my HP (Hewlett Packard) iPAQ h5550 (h-5-5-50?) PDA (Personal Digital Assistant), which I bought a few weeks ago. Call it what you like, a Pocket PC, palmtop, PDA, iPAQ, or whatever; it's basically a handheld computer. This one is mostly silver with black at the top, has a large touch screen, eight buttons, a fingerprint scanner, and a place to store the stylus. You probably saw the picture. Sleek looking design, don't you think? Expensive looking too! Main reason I wanted a PDA was to use it as a GPS (Global Positioning System) or Satellite Navigation since I keep getting lost when driving in areas I don't know that well. Only thing with using a PDA as a GPS is that you would also need to purchase a GPS receiver unit, software and normally, a memory card to store the maps and this isn't cheap!
