HP has a quality Computer. The increased level of technology they often offer is very nice and is priced very well. HOWEVER, their technical and logistics support needs help. On black Friday of November in 2006 my father bought me a laptop and put it in my name. About two months after his purchase the screen stopped working correctly, it washed out and became very pixlated. I was not upset I wanted it fixed however. Not having my A+ Cert at that point in time I didn't bother trying to open it because I knew I would void the Warranty.

I contacted customer support and they promptly asked me to send it back and they would have it fixed for me within 6 to 8 business day, and that they would send it back to me afterwards. I sent it back.

After six weeks I became FED UP with waiting for my laptop to be repaired. There was no tracking number because they had not yet fixed it and sent it back. I once again contacted customer support, and bought an extended warranty on the original laptop. They decided to right the wrong and they sent me a much better laptop of a higher quality, and I requested that they transfer my $200 extended warranty. I received this laptop within about a week and was very satisfied with the quality of the laptop, other than the fact that they wouldn't put XP on it instead of Vista. I avoided the confrontation and stomached the thought of Vista.

Within a month of receiving the new laptop, once again the screen failed. This time the actual video card had failed. ONCE AGAIN, I contacted customer support, rather perterbed and they asked me to send it back and they would have it fixed within 6-8 business days. AGAIN, I sent it back. AFTER ANOTHER 6 WEEKS I HAD NOT RECIEVED MY FIXED LAPTOP! I called support and started complaining. I gave them my case number and they transfered me to a manager. We again hammered out a deal for a new laptop. But halfway though him aproving my new laptop, what happened? He looked at my case number again, and long behold, support had never transfered my TWO HUNDRED DOLLAR EXTENDED WARRANTY! He said he would send a suitable replacement anyways. I got my laptop back two days later, AND a brand new COMPAQ. A COMPAQ OF WHICH ISN'T OF EVEN THE SAME QUALITY AS THE ORIGINAL LAPTOP I SENT IN THE FIRST TIME!

By the time I got my laptop back in was early in August of last year. And they hadn't even sent it back repaired. The keyboard has failed along with the touchpad and THE SCREEN! Since August I have tried to contact this support manager once a week and he has not called me, answered my emails. I AM GOING TO TAKE THIS TO COURT! The service I have received from HP is of no good. I ASK YOU ALL TO DISCONTINUE ANY PURCHASES FROM HP DUE TO ALL OF THEIR UNACCEPTABLE SERVICE! THEY HAVE STOLLEN NEARLY $500 OF MY HARD EARNED MONEY, CONSIDERING MY PHONE BILL OF TALKING TO SUPPORT AND WASTING MY TIME TRYING TO CONTACT THE INCOMPETANT SERVICE MANAGER!
