Advantages: Reliable well-built stable high-quality HP Disadvantages: Expensive
...Services for thinclient users then this server has handled up to 25 concurrent connections with no problems
If you purchase the 6 hot-swappable SCSI 200GB hard disks in RAID 10 its well worth the money for the longterm. If the RAID doesn't come preconfigured from HP then its no hassle at all to set it up yourself, using the handy bootable serveRAID CD HP provide. You can also use the built-in SCSI card for a tapedrive.
HP's tech support are pretty good, based in Ireland (at the moment) and competent enough to talk you through any issues.
But if you are a very small business (1-10 users) not planning on using any processor intensive server-side applications, then maybe a custom built P4 3.0GHz server would be cheaper and more apt for your needs....

Advantages: four gigabyts of ram! very fast, cheap, only slots into one slot Disadvantages: not many, wont work with older operating systems
...that the limit for most operating systems, apart from all or most server or networking operating systems, for the RAM is about four gigabytes, so I had brought the right OS for the Ram I had brought.
◙User Experience ◙
After installing my new ram, I was very happy with what I had brought; I noticed a significant change in the speed of my computer and how many programs it could run simultaneously.
For instance, before, I could only run about five or six programs at once, and my computer would slow right down, and my computer would also have problems with my fast broadband connection.
Now, because of my new ram, I can run as many programs as I want to and also my broadband connection is much faster than it was before. So all in all, I was very pleased with my new purchase.
The support of Compaq is absolutely brilliant...

Advantages: Up and running in under a minute Disadvantages: Not the fastest, (but then what do you expect)
...That's the manufacturers claim for this industry first product and it's true. Just plug in the drive to an available USB port, install the drivers and software and your away, it could not be easier.
The HP family of DAT (DDS) drives is now in to it's 5th generation, and the reliability and performance has grown with each new model.
The big disadvantage of the previous offerings was the need to invest in costly SCSI cards and cables, but this fabulous product very cleverly brings an industry standard product in to the reach of the serious home user and small business user.
If you have ever suffered a system crash and lost critical or valuable data, you will know the heart sinking feeling of realising you've lost everything, and that sense of "Why didn't I back it up?"...... Well no more excuses, not only does this drive provide...
