Advantages: Versatile, sturdy and reliable, excellent quality images
Disadvantages: pricey, perhaps a bit bulky

...With a resolution of up to 2400 x 2400 dpi, 48-bit colour and an XPA transparency adapter included, this is an excellent quality A4 flatbed colour scanner that I would recommend for either home or business. Transparencies, plain paper or cardboard, bulk objects (books etc.), film (35 mm negatives and slides), it can scan virtually anything… The quality of the scans is excellent, with very good colour sensitivity, and the process itself is quite fast (it gives you a preview in few seconds, and you can do about two full A4 pages / min). This scanner has both parallel and USB ports, and they both work equally well under Windows95 and 2000 too. I have used these two operating systems only, but apparently the scanner works with other versions of Windows as well (and I think even with Apple MacOS - anyway, it’s best... Read review

Advantages: THREE functions all for one technology / good value for money for all THREE functions
Disadvantages: The COPY function gives average results. Ink cartridges are rapidly used up in premium photos

...larger than my older 'HP PSC 1315' (16.97cm x 42.57cm x 25.91cm). It has a volume that approximates to 19339 cm3, measuring at a dimension of about 16.97cm in height, 44cm in width and 25.9cm depth. Colour-wise, the printer is grey on its vertical, lateral sections (i.e. all four vertical sides) with the top horizontal layer in greyish white, matte finish. The top, greyish white horizontal layer surrounds a GLASS (for scanning) that is directly covered by a white, LID BACKING. The 'lid backing' is mildly glossy in appearance, smooth to the touch and features the typical HP logo engraved on a metallic piece embedded in its surface. The INPUT TRAY of the printer displays two roles whereby it takes on the form of (1) a paper tray and (2) a front door. Advantages: Quick, clear scans

...the origional!! :o When you scan something the scanner automatically sets it to crop around the thing which has been scanned and so when you save it you dont have to crop it and you just save the image scanned, simple yet effective! Optical resolution is 1200 x 1200 dpi and the maximum size which the scanner can take is a standard A4 page, which most people require anyway, so that's superb! The resolution is 8-bit (256 grey levels) / 48-bit colour. Supported Media Types Include: Transparencies, plain paper, slides, bulk objects (such as books), film When removing the origional copy from the scanner its not as easy as it sounds and I found that sometimes its rather too easy to get big dirty fingerprints on your scanner!!
