I have just purchased a Hilife card after doing some research, and used it for the first time last night. In previous reviews another reviewer labelled HiLife users a "type". I left a 25% tip and also ordered wine with my meal. Well after leaving a tip we had saved around £10.
As other reviewers have previously pointed out, you receive a directory of restaurants and a card with numbers on the back. In the majority of cases you have to ring the restaurant confirming that you have a HiLife card. When you ask for the bill, you present your card to them and they deduct what ever discount is available of the bill. It is then upto the restaurant to then scratch the corresponding number of the back, if they do that then you can't use the offer at that restaurant for the remainder of that subscription. Here are a few idea's for tasty chicken, I enjoy these recipes and hope you do to.
Chicken and Tumeric
2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
1 large onion
3 cloves of garlic
1 small green chilli (chopped)
1lb of diced chicken
1 and a half tablespoons of ground tumeric
pinch of salt
1 tablespoon chopped lemon grass
1 teaspoon bean sauce
18 floz coconut milk
Apart from the meat the ingredients can be bought at most health food shops
Heat the oil in a frying pan or wok, add the onion, chilli, garlic and the chicken.
Stir fry for about 3-4 minutes untill the meat changes colour. Add the remainder of the ingredients apart from 3 tablespoons of the coconut milk.
Cook over a moderate heat for 30 minutes or until the meat is tender.
