However when you use the high resolution paper you will find that they come out really clear, no runs and all the bright bits are bright and the dark is dark where it’s all meant to be. RELIABILITY I’ve never had a real problem with the printer other than trying to work out for ages why I was getting lines on the pictures I was printing on cheap paper. But once I worked that out it’s been fine. I’ve never had the paper jam up in the printer either which is really surprising as we use a HP laser at work and it’s always jamming up (although that does get a lot more use). I normally use Google’s free Picasa software to view and edit photo’s and was not really interested in the trial version of Paint shop pro 8. ...I bought my new Epson R300 to go with my new digital camera (see my other review!) as normally I would send my digital photos to an online company to be printed. Having seen a demonstration in John Lewis and reading the impressive spec on Epson’s website I decided that I would order one. Anyway, on to the printer…. FEATURES - Print up to 5760 dpi - Borderless printing so that you can print right up to the edge of the paper meaning that you don’t have to worry about cutting the paper to size or tearing off perforations - Print directly from memory card or a compatible camera - Windows & Mac compatible - Uses 6 separate colour ink cartridges – this is good as it means that the printer can more closely match the colours in the photo.
