A sexy looking beastie no doubt, sleek curves, wonderful blue-grey metallic finish, and an extra large 13.3 inch screen, who says size doesn’t matter. In the trouser department its more than a overstuffed lunchbox, All the latest trimmings…. DVD drive…yes! you too can annoy the hell out of other British Rail passengers by watching the latest DVD movie whilst they shift those pesky leaves off the track, in full surround sound (well almost…the onboard speakers are a bit crap)
Need internet access too?…no problem!..connect up via a 56k modem , or go the really flashy route and use the infrared port in conjunction with your mobile phone, discover even more ways to annoy your fellow passengers!. Never mind the games you can play !
Upgrade? Did someone mention upgrade? fully upgradable Intel 500mhz processor, upgradable 3D graphics card, 64mb onboard ram upgradable to 256….note the word upgradable…yes at last! a laptop that you can upgrade !
Ok you know you wanna buy it right? …well I did, and god did I live to regret it!
Immediately after my sexy little laptop arrived I invited my fellow techno-junkies to salivate over my new purchase.. on the second reboot things went a bit pear shaped, I was keen to test out the graphics card and so loaded Unreal (an amazing game!)..it hung on startup..puzzled I tried rebooting again, this time absolutely nothing happened. My jealous associated began poking fun at my new toy, I was slightly miffed..I rang the tech support helpline…and after a long patronising attempt at faultfinding, by an obsequentious engineer , they agreed to take it in for repair…
One week later my little baby was back !…she sang and danced for all of ten minutes before fizzling out to a mere whimper and the screen went blank…rang tech support and they were mystified. They took her in again…this time she came back and submitted to my every whim for almost a month!, before undoubtedly exhausted, she collapsed again, and required another trip to the repairs hospital….this went on for about 6 months till finally I realised in my shallowness I had been swayed by sleek curves, and sex appeal over reliability! Twas with a little twinge of regret I broke off my engagement with my Notino 7400…and began courting a Toshiba instead….so far it looks like wedding bells!
