I've been a fan of Graham Masterton for a long time now and he ranges from writing horror to thriller novels. This book is neither, but instead is a grown up fairytale.
The main character is a teenage girl called Jessica who is ridiculed at school for her love of make believe - in particular fairies. Living with her loving grandparents ... ...do this they enter the hidden world through the wallpaper. Yes I know it sounds a bit crazy and surreal but they way it is written makes it very believable and had me staring at the walls in my house, letting the images go blurry, like when looking at magic pictures, for signs of possible movement behind them. This world is a strange place and everywhere they venture they find things which have a life of their own and are strangely familiar to them ...
