Manufacturer's product description
Initially SATA was designed as an internal or inside-the-box interface technology, bringing improved performance and new features to internal PC or consumer storage. Creative designers quickly realized the innovative interface could reliably be expanded outside the PC, bringing the same performance and features to external storage needs instead of relying on USB or 1394 interfaces. Called external SATA or eSATA, customers can now utilize shielded cable lengths up to 2 meters outside the PC to take advantage of the benefits the SATA interface brings to storage. SATA is now out of the box as an external standard, with specifically defined cables, connectors, and signal requirements released as new standards in mid-2004. In the RocketRAID 2304 Host Adapter, eSATA provides more performance than existing solutions and is hot pluggable.

...the performance of a graphics card, and you will be limited to the odd game of Halo or Half Life.
The only other disadvantage to this laptop is the battery life. While the built-in power saving features are excellent, the 4-cell battery is just not up to the job, providing under two hours idle time, and only just topping one hour under heavy load. A replacement 8-cell battery is available from Acer however, which would double these figures.
Overall, a great laptop for students or businessmen looking for a hardworking laptop on a tight budget. Highly recommended....

Advantages: Incredible range of resolutions to choose, perfect for anything - especially games Disadvantages: Big (expected from a CRT) and very, very heavy
...more and more graphics power to play these days and it becomes even more difficult when you want to play it on your native resolution on your new mointor. With this monitor you don't need these worries, I'll give you an example: When I played Crysis on my computer I played it on high @ 1680 x 1050 but is was just a bit too slow, so I brought it back a bit to 1440 x 900, at the same time I could play bioshock @ 2304 x 1440, that is the kind of range this mointor has, and because of this it will also give a longer life to your graphics card.
Perfect widescreen picture, great screen size with super high resolutions at very high refresh rates, watch movies in HD, play games in any resolution = The Perfect Monitor (besides the size and weight)....

Advantages: Fast, quiet, great RAID 0 performance Disadvantages: 1 year warranty
...I received two of these (60Gb) as replacements for my previous disk (DiamondMax D740X 60Gb, which I also review here on Ciao) which were faulty.
I didn't really get off to a good start, as one as of the disks was dead on arrival. It failed to be recognised by the BIOS on any of my machines, and the only controller which so much as acknowledged the drive's presence was my HighPoint 374. It appeared as a 'Maxtor CALYPSO' (the drive's codename), and the controller failed to boot. This indicated an electronics problem and duly, I returned it.
On receiving my replacement drive, I striped it together as RAID 0 with the other one and crossed my fingers. From here on out it was nothing but good news! The drives are both exceptionally quiet - Maxtor has replaced the old ball-bearing motors with FDB (Fluid Dynamic Bearing) ones, which...
