Once up and running, the ND 3520A has proved fast, reliable and exceptionally quiet. It feels solidly constructed and a push of the chunky eject button brings the tray out quickly and smoothly. It's not all that much to look at; I bought the black version (no extra cost) and although it's completely inoffensive, the designers could have spent a little longer on smartening up the front panel.
The drive writes DVD+/- R/RW discs, as well as CD-Rs and -RWs. Using Datawrite CD and DVD media it has yet to produce a coaster in 5 months of fairly regular burning, averaging about 8-10 minutes for a full 4.7GB DVD.
