My children have been taking these since they started school - I thought they needed some extra supplementation once they started mixing a lot with other children and eating the sweets that teachers insist of giving out. I tend to only give them in winter, when their immune systems are under extra stress, or when they are feeling a bit below-par.

...body does not store what is not used but flushes the excess away. Because of this a regular daily intake is required. Some vitamin tablets do not dissolve fully and are just flushed through, so chewablevitamin C tablets are a good idea I think. But there is another train of thought that says vitamin C is used as the demand dictates and so time release tablets are a better idea.
Sorry I dont have the exact cost yet Doh! I cant remember it. I will update this when I find the darn reciept. But it only cost about £3 for 2 months supply. The 500gm pack is all the average body requires daily (if there is any such thing as an average body). But if you are poorly your GP may avice higher dosages. If you believe the latest news report taking huge doses of Vitamin C has been linked to cancer, but hey we have all heard this sort of thing before...
