Higher Nature Dong Quai & Agnus Castus

...At the age of nearly 41, I had been experiencing irregular bleeding for several months. With my wedding looming 4 months away, and no joy from my doctor, I decided to look into herbal medicines and give the Agnus Castus a try. I took the required dose of 2 capsules morning and night, and by the 3rd month my periods were regular and I was able to get married and have my dream wedding and honeymoon without any little accidents. The plus side was, that as well as regulating my periods, it helped me to get pregnant the month after the wedding ( we had been trying for a year with no luck at all). unfortunately we lost the baby at 17 weeks. A year on and the bleeding has returned with a vengance. Surgery has been tried, and once again I am taking the Agnus castus. It worked for me once, I have every faith that it will work again... ...Note - If you're a bloke you may not want to read on, I know how squeamish you get... although I've tried not to be at all graphic here. Agnus Castus (also commonly known as Vitex) is a hormonal balancing herbal remedy which can really help women with problems caused by low progesterone/high oestrogen levels, such as premenstrual syndrome, irregular cycles, abnormal bleeding, period pains and acne. It is a useful alternative to the ‘natural progesterone’ supplements commonly available on the internet, sometimes at a very high price, which may involve taking supplements orally or applying a cream to the body. Oral progesterone requires a high dose since something like 80% is absorbed and then excreted by the liver. From what I have seen, opinion is divided on creams such as ‘wild yam’ as to whether they actually deliver progesterone... Read review

Disadvantages: It is important to keep to the stated recommended dose, however seek professional herbalist advice before taking in conjunction with prescribed hormone drugs.
