This was the second Katie Fforde book I have read the first being Paradise Fields (which I can also recommend). Jenny Porter (a virtual assistant) sets out from the home counties on a mission to the Scottish Highlands for a client who she has never met. Her job being to report on the failing mill owned by the Dalmain family. Leavng behind her boyfriend Henry, Jenny arives in scotland greated by cold weather and a rather strange family. As a newcomer to Katie Fforde, I was pleasantly surprised with this read. Just what I'd recommend for those lazy summer days (?) relaxing with a Pina Colada. It has laughs without being silly and romance without being soppy. My one gripe is her stereotypical description within the first chapter that Scotland is always freezing - I've lived there and I know it isn't. I don't think I'd read it again - but I don't often read books twice. The story is believable without being far fetched and the characters are also fairly true to life.
