I am on a bit of a health kick at the moment, i.e. trying to eat more healthily, exercise and drink more water in order to obtain more energy and to achieve clearer skin and help my internal workings, well, work better!
I have always encouraged my kids to drink water although admittedly they tend to have water only with their evening meal and at bedtime but also as an accompaniment to the many sporting, dancing activities etc. they do so these 12 x 330ml packs with sports lid are ideal as usually they don't manage to drink the whole of a larger sized bottle whereas most of this will get supped during an hour's activity. The bottles are an ideal size for kids to hold and once you have taken off the little tab the lid open and closes easily. I always remove this before giving them to the children as it can be a bit fiddly for them but obviously needs to be in place so that you know that the water is fresh and that the water has not been interfered with in any way.
The size of the bottle means it is great for lunchboxes, gym bags and handbags and the sport top means it is easy to open and close whilst exercising etc. If desired, you can unscrew the entire lid and swig straight from the bottle rather than squeezing and sucking the water through the cap.The selling point of Highland Spring is that it is sourced/drawn from organic land and is therefore pure and hopefully free from any nasties.
I drink my water at room temperature and find it just as refreshing as when served chilled or icy cold. I actually find it easier to drink more at room temperature and have heard it is better for your stomach and system in general as it is less shocking to the body. The plastic bottle is 100% recyclable and the label upon the ones I currently have says it is the official water of LTA Tennis. Whether or not that is something that would sway you to buy this is questionable but I guess it does no harm to link the goodness of water with the goodness of an activity such as tennis.
The storage instructions say that you should store this in an odour free environment and away from direct sunlight although once opened this product should be refrigerated and consumed within seven days although I have opened one of these and left it on my bedside cabinet for a night-time drink if needed and it stays fresh for a few days. Once it is past it's best (if kept unrefrigerated) you can tell by sniffing the cap - it will smell slightly nasty!I don't know why, but I have a bit of a phobia when it comes to tap water and I always have bottles of water in the house and these smaller sized ones are very handy for both me and my children. I prefer the taste to tap water which I can drink only if very cold but highland spring I prefer at room temperature and of course although water doesn't have a flavour I like how this one in particular tastes and it does a good job of hydrating and refreshing me.
Asda sell this pack of 12 for £2.77 whilst the other mainstream supermarkets sell these for £2.99 and I like it and buy it above most other brands. This product is calorie free and suitable for a low sodium diet and is a product of Scotland and a very nice one too!
