Full review
Hi I haven't written a review for a while so I thought at 1.10 a.m I would sit down and write a review of Himalayan Green Tea. Now I know a lot of you will probably say yuck! Errr green tea! But, in actual fact I find it very nice and refreshing.

The thing I will say is that I think with all herbal tea's it is an acquired taste, the same applies to green tea. Green tea has some important properties in for people that are dieting like myself. It is naturally low in caffeine and high in antioxidants. It has a calming effect and makes you feel good too. The taste is very difficult to explain.

I would say it tastes a little like weak tea, but it has a strange herbal taste to it. The herbs take away the bitterness from the green tea and gives you an ahh on the back of your tongue. Not an unpleasant taste at all, but an acquired taste and for that reason I don't see everyone liking it. However if you are on a diet I would strongly suggest it as a daily drink because of it's abilities to clean the poisons out of your body and in today's society we need that! For maximum benefit it is suggested to have 4 to 5 cups a day, but not to exceed 10 otherwise you will be over dosing. I guess it must be a bit like taking too many vitamins which isn't suggested either.

So What Are Antioxidants?

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Antioxidants help protect the body from damage caused by harmful free radicals and form an important part of a healthy diet.

(Oxygen, an essential element for life, can create damaging by-products during normal cellular metabolism. Antioxidants counteract these cellular by-products, called free radicals, and bind with them before they can cause damage. If left unchecked, free radicals may cause heart damage, cancer, cataracts, and a weak immune system.) Frei B (ed), Grei B. Natural antioxidants in human health and disease. Value For Money?

-------------------------------------------------------------------

You can expect to pay anything from around £1.50 to £4.00 for green tea depending on the make and quality.

The more your willing to pay the better the quality which is like any product really. Your paying for the quality and quantity.

Taylors Of Harrogate is a really great brand that I can recommend to you.

The smell of it is somewhat reminiscent of ordinary tea and in my opinion not very nice. I don't much like ordinary tea so that's why I probably don't appreciate the smell.

The product comes in a cardboard box just like ordinary tea bags, but different brands have different designs. The ones I get from Taylors Of Harrogate are in a nice purple coloured box with a pretty pink flower on the front.

I have been drinking green tea ever since I tried it in the Chinese restaurant. It was only 80p and I thought it was cheap for a drink not like coke or other drinks so I thought I'd give it a try. I'd also heard a lot about it from my mum and dad who drink it also. When I first tasted it I thought it tasted really different and refreshing. It made a real difference from other drinks and was unique in it's taste. It didn't leave a nasty aftertaste in my mouth or anything and I found I didn't get indigestion or feel as full as I did drinking other gaseous drinks like coke. The fact, that is was low fat also made it nicer. After drinking my first drink I was smitten and every time we'd go for a Chinese I'd order a pot of green tea. I don't know there's something different about the green tea that you get in Chinese restaurants than there is in the packets bought from shops. It's nicer in my opinion from the Chinese, but then I suppose everything is. It could be the fact that you don't make it yourself, but get served it or it could be that Chinese restaurants get a different brand.

It's nice to drink after a big meal when your feeling really bloated it just takes that bloated feeling away. It's nice to drink any time of day or as a pick me up when your feeling in need of energy. It's nice to wake up to in the morning and to drink last thing at night.

If you are curious what it tastes like then I suggest you give it a try and try to get an organic brand. You won't know if you don't try it. It certainly has good effects on your body so it is worth trying it.

Anyway I'm going to have a cup and get to bed it's 1.54 a.m now.
