I have had this book on my shelf for a while . I had nothing better to do but sit down and read it . I found it very entertaining and funny in parts. This was not the usual type of book which I like to read but I soon got into it. The start of the book begins with his experiences of when he was first introduced to newspapers and journalism. When he was seven and half he became a paperboy. It also tells of how he was brought up in Bradford in Yorkshire ...
...a chapter devoted to Russell Harty who I remember watching on TV he had a chat show on a Friday night. He taught Richard english and Russell made a great impression on him. The book covers his life span from when he was a small boy right through to 2000. Entertaining us on his programme Countdown. He was famous for his gaudy jackets and lurid ties.
