I have had a breadmaker for nearly two years and in that time have made a loaf nearly every day. Like Ciao, breadmaking is rather addictive.
When I bought the machine prices were still fairly high, although I actually only paid £45 which I don't consider too bad at all. You can now pick up a decent machine for a little over £30 or spend into the £100's for a whistles and bells job. However, I don't necessarily think that you get any more for your ... ...just as good for the basic loaf).

Advantages: Easy To Clean, Cooks Great Bread Disadvantages: None at all
I purchased the Hinari bread maker at the weekend from my local Tesco for £39.99. The breadmaker appealed to me as I had heard many good reports on them so I decided to take the plunge and invest in one. I was quite surprised at the way the operating manual was set out and the complimentary cook book which was included and covered a various amount of recipes which offered items from simple bread to chocolate bread and pizza’s and various speciality ... ...cook quicker do not give the bread long enough to rise so this results in a flatter not as textured bread.
Overall I am very happy with my Hinari bread maker and if you were to purchase one I could guarantee you would be happy too.
Have fun!! ...

Advantages: easy to use and clean Disadvantages: not all breads rise evenly
I had the newer version HB164 breadmaker brought for me. With it came instruction booklet and a recipe book. The instruction book is clear and factual, listing the dos and don'ts.
It has several useful programs and you can stop them during cooking if needed. It makes rising of yeast products easy. Cleaning the product is easy too as it has a removable pan inside. This gets very hot on cooking so do let it cool.
The breadmaker has the following ... ...timer start/stop/reset buttons. Some of the programs are fast like quick dough in 6 minutes, others like whole-wheatmix 4 hours 15 minutes. so it varies.
It also varies with what you can make, Bread being the obvious one.How about some of these though: chocolate hazelnut bread, sundried tomato bread, hot cross buns, muffins, bagels doughnuts and pizzas to name a few.
You can also try your own recipes.
During the bread shoetage here I found this ...

...it tastes wonderful too. The Hinari HB154 was my choice because it was one of the cheaper models and i thought if it turned out to be a waste of money I hadnt been stung to badly. I should have had more faith- its always on in our house and I say that if you are considering buying a breadmaker- dont be put off - just do it- you wont regret it. ...

Advantages: Makes jam and pizza base too Disadvantages: None
I bought my Hinari breadmaker last year and it cost roughly £80. Now that may seem expensive buy, hey - this isn't just a breadmaker... It has several programmes including just dough making - take it out and make bread rolls, pizza etc. You can make cakes and even jam...
If I am in a rush there is a fast programme which takes less time for the dough to rise, or if I want something a bit more traditional I take the dough out, put it in traditional ... ...thing that I really like about this machine is that it is so user-friendly. Place your water in the tin, add the dry ingredients, choose your programme and off you go. Once the bread is baked, let the tin cool down, give it a quick wipe out with a cloth and it's done.
What my husband really likes about it is the lovely smell that lingers in the kitchen afterwards... ...
