Full review
I have owned this microwave for nearly 3 years, it was gratefully received as a wedding present and served me well. Unfortunately after an incident of it shooting sparks we decided to put it into retirement and get a new microwave, a choice we much regretted. It turns out it only shot sparks because there was some food around the seal of the door and once that was cleaned off it was fine but we had been given a new microwave and felt we'd better give it a go, still I put the Hinari into storage reluctant to part with it. My instincts were spot on, I blew up the new microwave after 4 months of use, I only asked it to cook for a minute and it blew all the electrics in the house, so needless to say out came the old microwave and I'm happy again.

Hinari Lifestyle Microwave-
The Hinari Lifestyle is a compact microwave with an interior capacity of 20 liters (0.7 cubic feet) it is an 800 watt microwave and with a weight of 16kg (boxed)

The microwave has a maximum cooking time of 99 minutes per setting. It's touch screen style buttons allow you to set the timer to the exact minute and second you desire so if you wish to cook something for 27.48 seconds you just enter that amount, all you do is press the "Time" section and use the individual number sections(0-9) to pick your time, then press "Cook" and off you go. You are able to stop the microwave to let the food rest without clearing the remaining amount of time, this is done simply by pressing the "Stop/Clear" section, press once for stop and twice if you wish to completely clear the screen.

You are able to adjust the microwaves power level by going through the "power level" section, you are able to adjust it through 10%-100% power. You can also use the "auto defrost" option or you can programmed in the type of food you're defrosting i.e. chicken, seafood, meat...as well as the weight of the food.

The microwave also has express cooking, pre-set and memory settings, as well as a minute timer for cooking outside of the microwave, an auto reminder, clock and a child lock. All these features are clearly explained in the manual.

The Hinari lifestyle Microwave is quite compact and lightweight, it comes in a choice of white or silver grey and is made up of a mix of metal and plastic casing. As with all microwaves it has a glass turntable that turns on plastic runners.

The microwave is most widely available online for about £44.99, it is unlikely to be widely available in stores as it is an older model and stores always stock the newest designs.

My Experience-
I had always got on well with the microwave before the spark incident and was reluctant to part with it when we received the new one, so I am delighted to have it back in its rightful place.

Compared to my other microwave it is more compact, lighter and better looking. More suited to a family home than a bachelor pad. The Hinari lifestyle seems to have a better cooking time despite being an 800 watts compared to an 850 microwave. What took the 850 watt micro 2 minutes to cook only takes the Hinari 1 minute.

The microwave is relatively quiet, it has the usual beeping noise for when the cooking has stopped as well as when you are selecting the function and required time. The door is opened manually by a handle rather than a push button, which proves to be quieter, meaning I’m happier to use the microwave when the kids are asleep as I’m not worried it will wake them.

Opening the door immediately stops the microwave cooking and the option of the child safety lock as well as the touch screen buttons (rather than dials) means I see this as a safe microwave to have around my 2 little explorers.

The microwave may be a relatively small capacity compared to some but for me this is not a problem as I don’t tend to use it for large items like chickens or meat joints.

I find the microwave incredibly easy to use, the manual is clearly laid out so any queries I have regarding the different functions are easy to answer and the function settings are all clearly marked on the microwave itself. It is also remarkably easy to clean, just don't let anything dry and get crusty otherwise you're in for a little elbow work(all microwaves would be the same) because it is a slightly smaller size the turntable pops out easily and fits into a washing up bowl.

I am much happier now I have my Hinari microwave back. It cooks quicker, looks better, takes up less space and is far less noisy then its replacement. Despite the one set back I’ve not had a problem with the microwave and would recommend it to potential buyers, my model is in the silver grey colour which is far nicer than the white, but if white would suit your kitchen better then go for it, after all the colour does not change how it works.
