Advantages: can be left on all day, economical to run, easy to clean Disadvantages: need to remember to put the food in hours before you eat
...For all you busy people out there or people who wish to save on your gas/electric bill and save on your food bill too, then this kitchen gadget is defintely for you. A slow cooker is an extremely low wattage appliance that can be safely left on all day (or night). How it works is you place your ingredients in the pot, add a bit of fluid such as water or broth, put on the lid, and switch on to your chosen setting. It gently cooks your food with steam. More about that later.
The Hinari Lifestyle slow cooker retails for about £39. It is stainless steel on the outside, with a vented smoked glass lid. The removable inner pot is earthenware (hence why in the USA they are called crockpots)and comes in black. The crock liner is extremely easy to clean as the steam cooking action keeps the food moist so it all just wipes off. Occasionally you...

Advantages: easy to use, time saving Disadvantages: none known
...I received the hinarisc395ss slow cooker as one of my christmas gifts from my boyfriend as I had often hinted that I would like one! As it was a gift I don't know the price but similar products are around £20. It came boxed and well packaged inside to protect the appliance. The overall appearance was very good and easy enough to unpack.
The bowl that sits inside the cooker is black and very heavy, which I think is a good sign of quality, the outer part of the cooker that the bowl sits in is really light. It has a see through glass lid so that you can see how your food is doing. The dial on the front has four settings: off, low, high and warm. Off is self expanitory, low is the slow cooking function, high is a quicker setting, good for bringing things to the boil and warm keeps the food warm when its cooked! Very simple...

Advantages: Quiet (with mod), removable water tank, air direction control, cheap Disadvantages: Water tank could do with being bigger (I'm being picky here!)
...I was looking for a relatively decent air con unit last Friday due ot the extereme heat. I was torn between the Focus 12000 BTU Hinari unit and the 14000 BTU unit I'd seen in a B&Q catalogue (NOT the split unit as seen on their website) and luckily I managed to test both of them so here is my review/comparison.
Cooling:-
The B&Q unit is rated at 14000 BTU's vs the Hinari unit which is rated at 12000 BTU's. From what I could feel in the store I'd say the B&Q unit does feel slightly cooler but not by a huge amount. In an average sized room I'd say you might get an extra 0.5 to 1 degree celsius off your room tempreture.
For reference, the Hinari cooled a 9sqm office I was working in from 30c to 25.2c in around an hour and also drastically reduced the humidity. This made the office competely bearable again.
Noise:-
The Hinari...

I find this headset a very good buy, they are not expensive and they are comfortable.
My only gripe with these headsets is that the way it fits over your ears can sometimes be painful after an hour or two, if you want to listen to music then you will... more
I’ve just bought a Samsung e390 Bluetooth phone and have to say how delighted I am with it.
I’m not a big fan of mobile phones and really hate complicated flashy ones that seem to control you rather than the other way round. This phone is sooooo... more
