...cooking it on my trusty Hinari steam supreme, wouldn’t swap it for anything. I paid £15 quid for it a couple of years ago from T J Hughes, and its never given me a minutes trouble. If you want a cheap steam cooker get one of these, it does not have a lot of sophisticated controls like some of the more expensive models but it does its job.
The steamer basically consists of two steaming baskets and a base unit where the water and heating element are ... ...filling a kettle, place the steaming baskets on top with your vegetables, meat or fish. Set the clockwork timer to the required setting, and go and watch the tele, its all you have to do!
Easy as a microwave, healthier than boiling. I prefer it to a microwave because I think the food retains a better texture. You can just leave it on auto and your foods ready in say about 40 minutes if your having meat and two veg, although I’m a vegetarian, so ...

...pan, mum got me this Hinari steamer.
The design is less pretty than hers (I think hers is a Tefal - the one with green baskets) and is more functional than anything. It's bland enough to sit in your kitchen unnoticed, and that's a good thing because it is quite big.
INSTALLATION
The Steam Supreme is very easy to set up. It comes with a frightening array of plastic attachments, which I soon learn are the drip tray, the water inlet cap, three transparent ... ...I really like my Hinari steamer, although I probably don't use it as often as I should because I hate washing off all those chunks of green beans from the baskets! The taste and texture of veg is far superior to the metal stove-top steamer I was using before - and if you're still boiling your greens, you'll really notice a difference. I have also sucessfully boiled eggs in the egg rack (although it was a bit too fiddly to do again) and for a few ...

Advantages: Saves on washing up Disadvantages: A bit cumbersome - and beware of scalding yourself!
The Hinari Super Steamer is not (as I first thought when presented with the mystery box as a house warming present), a steam iron. It is, in fact, a food steamer. As I'm sure you are aware, steamed vegetables are considered the healthiest way of cooking your veg. Unlike conventional veg cooking techniques the vegetables do not lose their vitamins, texture or flavour when steamed over a pool of gently bubbling water. However, this modern convenience, ... ...appliances seems to make what was, in ye olden (but not very convenient) days a relatively straight-forward procedure into something altogether more .... well, bothersome. Consider the following:
In the days when to steam veg you would need to use a pan, what would you do? Put a pan of water on the stove to boil, stick a colander (or other suitable kitchen utensil) over the top, put the veg in and cover the top. Bingo! Lovely steamed veg with not ...

...step towards healthy eating. The Hinari two
tier steamer. Yes it does improve the taste of food and no it does not fill your kitchen
with steam.
The Hinari electric steamer consists of a base unit with a 900cc capacity, (that is one
and a half pints), a steamer bowl, and, divided by a seating rim, a second steamer bowl.
In addition there is also a rice bowl which is made to sit inside either bowl and is used
for, you guessed, it rice. In fact ... ...foods such
as rice and sweetcorn and also any foods being cooked in there own sauce. The whole
thing stands 330mm high and the diameter is around 230mm. The timer goes up to 20
minutes in single increments and continues up to 1 hour in 5 minute increments. When
the selected time is expired it attracts your attention by sounding a beep. It cost me
£24.49p. It is attractive looking and the dimensions make it practical to be left on the
worktop.

Advantages: Quick and Very easy Disadvantages: Be Careful Not To Burn Yourself!!
My mum always said steaming your veg and fish is the best way to keep in alls those important vitamins. So for my Christmas present last year I got a Steamer! Hey not the best gift but better than a pair of socks!
**Using The Steamer**
The steamer is quite large and does take up a bit of space. It has clear baskets and a white base. There is a large base unit, to which you then have a dip tray on top, then two steaming baskets, one small the other ... ...set up, the baskets just clip on top of each other in the right order. You can use one or two baskets depending on what you are cooking, and depending on the size of food cooking the basket can be small or large.
To start off you need to wash your veg/meat and then arrange it into the baskets. Before placing them onto the unit fill it up with the correct amount of water, theses details are all written down for you in the instruction pamphlet under ...

Advantages: Generous compartments Disadvantages: Cleaning can be tricky
...As we all strive to be a bit more healthy especially when feeding the kids , steaming food is a simple step to help retain the goodness of the food and what could be easier than investing in a steamer.
The Hinari two-tier steamsupreme has two very generous compartments which easily hold enough veg to feed a family of four and can also be used independantly.
It also comes with a rice steaming dish which easily inserts into any of the compartments.
It's not just useful for steaming veg and rice, it can also be used for steaming meat, poultry or fish and one of the compartments is moulded at the bottom to easily hold eggs.
I was impressed with the handy little recipe book that was included in the purchase - lots of inspiration for my new kitchen 'toy' also easy to read water level gauge with an external spout for topping up water...

Games like Supreme Commander, it is safe to say, do not come around very often. The enormous hype, anticipation, and mass hysteria that has surrounded this game since its announcement is a testament to its rarity. After a few years of no real improvement more
