A sexy stainless steel, colourful kettle… It has a 1.7 litre capacity, which makes a good few cups of tea! On the plus side it has a 3kw rapid boil which takes less than 30 seconds to boil 500ml perfect for a large cuppa like mine :o)
The tri-lights are a great gadget giving a 3-stage illumination dependant on which function you choose to use: Standard boil - blue Keep warm/simmer – red Boil before simmer – purple
The buttons that control these functions are clearly labelled, the one at the top operates the standard boil with a automatic shut off on boiling. However, this auto shut-off can be over-ridden with the second button at the bottom on the base, turning this on operates the keep warm/simmer function.
The kettle sits on a black circular base that allows for a 360 degree rotation, it is also cordless which makes for easy pouring. As the kettle is stainless steel it does get very hot as the water is boiling so this needs to be kept well out of the reach of young children.
There is a water level indicator on the side of the kettle, it indicates 500ml, 1L, 1.5L and the maximum fill of 1.7L. The maximum fill takes about 2 minutes to boil. Another plus is a small filter on the spout which filters out large limescale flakes, but due to this kettle being stainless steel it is possible to clean it simply by boiling a bottle of white vinegar in it! (Much cheaper than de-scaling products…)
*Before use: The kettle comes in a large box with a load of polystyrene. Having removed the kettle from the packaging place it on the black circular base, measure the length of cable needed and the rest can be stored under the base. It is then necessary to boil the kettle on maximum fill at least 3 times to make sure that the kettle is clean before drinking any water from it.
*Conclusion: A great kettle, which sexy steel and colourful illumination. Rapid boil and a limescale filter make this a very good kettle for the money.
