I have been undertaking a huge renovation job on my hundred year old home, and as its an ongoing process, I have been hiring skips on an ad hoc basis. Thinking that these were costing me a fortune I thought I might try the Hippobag and see if what my friend, a small independent builder, was telling me was true. ...went online and found the Hippo website which let me search for my nearest stockist which was a garden centre. When I got there I found the bags came in two sizes and bought the bigger megabag which promised to fit a bath in it...well I can tell you it did! ...front garden and I phoned HIPPO to arrange collection first thing on monday - the service says that the bags will be picked up within five days but that doesn't stop you hoping each day that when you get home they wll be gone!! On the fifth day the bags were picked up while I was at work - all in all a great service, really convenient and i would certainly use a bag again in future. ...my rubbish. I phoned Hippo to arrange the collection and the lady I spoke to was very polite and helpful, she took my credit card details (the whole lot only cost about £45). They confirmed that they would collect within 5 working days. The bag was collected in 4 days which was great, and I was lucky enough to see the lorry come and pick it up. ...our front garden and thought Hippo Bags provided an economic and convenient alternative to skip hire. That was until we tried to arrange collection. Like many people who live in a busy urban area there are a large number of cars parked in our street. We don't usually know who owns the parked cars and have little control over who parks outside our house. It's a fairly normal picture for city dwellers but this appears to cause Hippo an insurmountable ...
...pick-up. That doesn't satisfy the Hippo people. They want us to ensure that there are no parked cars near the bag. Now as every urbanite knows, you can put cones, wheelie bins and signs in the street but people will move them in their desperation to park. ...Everyone is talking about being 'Green' and doing what we can to help the Environment, as well as being energy efficient. So I have decided to write about one of the ways in which I am becoming 'Green' which saves me water as well as a little money, especially as household bills are continually rising. Since October 2007 I have been using Hippo Water Saver bags in my toilet cisterns. My bathroom suite is around 7 years old and doesn't have one of those 'half flush' toilets to save water, so I use the Hippo Bag to save water. Most toilets don't need to use a full cistern to flush effectively. Of each toilet flush 30% of the water used is wasted, so you are literally flushing your money down the drain. .... With this application you choose the style and colour of each part of the bed and see it built on the screen in front of you. I was able to sit down with my daughter and let her choose the look of her own bed built to her specifications. There's no need to sign up but they will ask where you heard of their site before letting you in. First, you choose the headboard colour - pink of course (also blue, yellow, green, lilac, orange, red, turquoise) Playpal - Hippo, duck, football, heart, handbag, letters. Mostly this is a pyjama bag that hangs on the headboard. The letters however are lots of separate felt letters that Velcro onto the headboard. We chose this (even a bed can be educational), there are several of each letter and they come in their own little bag. Base Colour - pink of course (all the same colour choices as the headboard).
