DOLLY TRAVEL COT UPDATE:
I have recently discovered that Zapf Creation make a version of this travel cot for your little one's dolly/teddy! It is approximately 16cm in height, 47cm long and 37cm wide, is suitable for ages 3+ and can be used with the 46cm Baby Annabell doll (sold separately). The bed comes with a mattress, blanket and a storage bag and all are in a lovely baby pink and white. I have not tried this out but am sure it would be fun, and definitely easy to store.
You can buy the Zapf Creation travel cot for £19.99 from:

Advantages: keeps baby close to you, easy to use, attractive Disadvantages: too big to fit through doorways
...When I was pregnant with my baby (now 8 months old) I spent quite a while looking at different cots. The idea of a bedside cot really appealed to me, especially since I have ME and wanted to make night feeds as hassle free as possible. I decided on this specific brand of bedside cot because of the castors and the "up and over" way of removing the extra side, rather than storing it beneath the cot like most others do.
Whats a bedside cot?
---------------------
A bedside cot is basically the same as your standard cot, but with the option to remove one of the sides and put it right up against the side of your bed. This allows co-sleeping while giving you extra room. It also means you don't have to get out of bed to feed your baby in the middle of the night (a great bonus for me). You can still use it as a standard cot too...

...- your child only sleeps on cotton covered areas, the nylon bits are the mosquito net.
The only problems we found were:
1) if you want to put a sheet on the base, rather than use one of the baby sleeping bags that are the latest thing in baby bedding, you can't tuck it under the base properly as it uses Velcro to attach it to the main body of the cot. We got around this by not using a sheet as a) the cotton cover of the base is very soft against the skin, so no rubbing and b) you can sponge off any dribble stains (we did not have the pleasure of any more offending stains to deal with so can't comment on how well these would come off!).
2) the cot sits directly on the floor - that is, there is no gap between the base and the floor - which isn't really a problem unless the floor is cold. We got around this by putting a blanket...
