...I bought this carrier when my daughter was about six months old, having tried and hated every other carrier I came across.why did I hate them?? well every one is designed with a harness that goes over shoulders and around your body to secure it. now at 5 foot 2 inches and being a size 8-10 i ended every time i used a carrier with bad back and seriously painful shoulders and carrying any baby over 10kg was a mission. I found the hippychick seat in one of the baby catalogues and decided that I would give it a try. It is basically like a 'bumbag' of the 80s with a solid insert inside that provides a platform for your baby to sit on. with a good strong velcro fastening and a strap and buckle to secure it further. ...here. The mattress it comes with is just a standard foam mattress, nothing special. It isn't waterproof either so you might want to buy a waterproof mattress protector incase of accidents. *****The first night!***** This is my experience with the bed, other toddlers properly will differ! lol I put his to bed at normal time and after about an hour of playing with the bed he went to sleep. He's now discovered he can climb out of the bed and play in his bedroom in the night, but that's what happens when you get a toddler bed in any design! ****Conclusion***** If you want something totally different this is the bed for your toddler. Once you manage to get it put together it feels solid enough.. I can even fit in it with my toddler so it's quite roomy. Your toddler will love it and the room will look really fun... Read review

Advantages: Perefct height for a toddler
Disadvantages: it's not big enough if you have to lie beside them!

...When our daughter was 18 months she was a very active child in her sleep. Her cot was no longer big enough for her to comfortably move around in the cot! We had seen a small bed in IKEA which was a toddler bed which could extend with the child! It also on one side had a rail which would prevent them falling out! The bed at the time cost £65 for the base and the mattress was £45. But now I believe they sell it as a combined package for about £105! The Bed came as a flat pack which my hubby found easy to make and put together! He put the frame together in about 20 minutes and the slates took about 10 mins and another 5 minutes to screw onto the bed to hold them securely! The instructions were easy to follow and all screws and keys were there to help you along the way! The bed was up and was light to move into the position... Read review
