A LONG WAY GONE
Review of A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier - Ishmael Beah by BLUEBELL19

Advantages: TRUE STORY
Disadvantages: NONE

The book starts with the every day life of a family much like everyone else, but soon turns into a nightmare of huge proportions and experiences that no child should ever have to endure. It is the story of a childs survival through a brutal conflict. To think that this was happening on a day when we were all probably just getting on with the mundane ... Read review

When reading this ...

It includes extracts and "voices" from hundreds of different people involved in the war, be it men or women of all ages. There is also some context around the accounts which indicates what particular part of the war they are to do with and makes them much more ... Read review
