Advantages: Everything about it Disadvantages: None found yet
...Everyone knows that there is nothing worse than trying to do DIY with cheap tools, as the finish is usually poor. Not the case with this saw. Although it is at the cheaper end of the mitresaw market, its build quality and ease of use are excellent.
To bore you with statistics, it has :
1.7kw motor, which spins at 5,000 rpm with no load.
10 inch blade
Side bars
Clamp
The 1.7kw motor is unusually large for a 10 inch saw, they are normally used on the 12 inch saws, which are too big and bulky for average DIY jobs. So this saw delivers the power but in a manageable size.
I have used mine for making picture frames, book-ends, etc., and am in the process of making a workbench. It is proving to be invaluable.
The blade can be set to cut on an angle up to 45 degrees off vertical and 45 degrees in one direction and 60...

Advantages: Good value, makes the job easier Disadvantages: Comes with no clamps to hold wood in place
...Our DIY story
-------------
After painting our living room half and half we needed something to break up the two colours, but what? We didn't want yet another border in our house and a nice crisp line was a no go especially on an embossed wall paper.
Solution dado rail.
As per usual we went full steam ahead and made do with the tools we had to get the job done. Big mistake!
The first piece was quite easy using a wooden mitre box to cut the 45 degree angle and a saw but as to what type of saw it was, I have no idea, I think I will have to ask Handy Andy.
Piece of cake we thought that was until we had to cut a new angle right on the end of the dado rail for the next piece to slot in behind.
My husband did the sawing whilst I held it in place which proved difficult and after several pieces cut wrong and angles slightly...

...The Bosch PMS 400-multi- purpose saw is clearly one of the most versatile power tools ever produced. With it’s fast SDS tool- changing system, the PMS 400 universal saw can be rapidly changed from a handy saw, to a sander, a wire brush, a file, a rasp or even a polisher in seconds. It is lightweight, and has a single handed operation for ease of use, yet powerful enough to be used for a multitude of job’s around the house. For example cutting tree branches, smoothing wood, removing rust and deburring metal, the Bosch multi-saw nevertheless remains a specialist-sawing tool. In this mode it is equally suitable for rough sawing and precise carpentry is possible, thanks to two foot plates which are standard, one for accurate 90 degree cutting and the other for 45 mitres, for example picture framing. Also standard is a wire brush attachment...
