When I purchased this TV this was the phrase used by the sales assistance in the shop. "It's a TV with a difference". I was not overly convinced by his technique but in a strange way the TV seemed to sell itself to me. It was the lifestyle that came with the TV that seemed to appeal to me.
Just the thought of inviting all the lads round and watching the world cup on this baby had me handing over the cheque and waiting for delivery..
When it came I found it quite simple to assemble and it was up and running quite quickly.
After about 4 hours of TV fest I started noticing that the room was getting very hot. I checked if the heating had come on and it hadn't so I just sat back and carried on watching TV. Another hour passed and I stood up to close the curtains. As I walked past the TV I noticed a warm sensation as I past. I stopped and touched the front of the screen and I couldn't believe how hot it was. I was a little worried and decided to call it a night.
In the morning I rang the shop from where I got it and was informed that other users have reported a similar condition and I was reassured that everything would be ok.
I have been using the TV for quite a while now and I have not experienced any dangerous effects from the heat of the TV. It does seem to be safe.
As time has gone by the picture has seemed to improve. I don't know if this is just my eyes or if it is really happening but other people in my house have said the same thing. The picture has always been great and watching the world cup on it was a real delight.
Apart from the heat there is only one other problem and that is that the remote control is not very easy to use and, once you do figure it out, it is impossible to link it up to the sky. I have ploughed through the instructions and have found no help on how to do this or found any indication what the problem might be. So for the time being I am left with the prospect of using two remote controls (I'll be expecting sympathy cards in the post please. lol)
The sound on the TV is average nothing special but I have linked it up to my sound system and it is sounding great.
So all said and done, a very good product for a very good price.

Advantages: Great picture, solid performance and build Disadvantages: Can't get the Sky remote to operate the TV!
Bought this set approx 2.5 years ago in the days when you had to pay the £1400 price..........overall not disappointed.
I've encountered no problems throughout ownership and the build quality seems good.
I've currently just got the TV linked up to Sky digital and a dvd player and it copes well with both, however when watching sports and films the TV really performs great with nice sharp pictures and colours and good deep blacks (not a variation ... ...not supporting 1080p HD this TV still performs great when hooked up to a 1080i HD signal (which it does dupport).......so HD DVD players, XBox 360 and Xbox HD drive owners at the price this TV will satisfy all of your needs.
The features and conections on this TV are also all easily accesable.
If I was to have one slight gripe it would be that no matter how hard I try I can not find a code that will allow a Sky remote to be programmed to operate ...
