Hitachi AXM55 MP3

Advantages: Superb sound quality, stylish, feels robust and good quality
Disadvantages: None at the moment

...Bought this is the January sales this year saving £30 on the RRP. So far very pleased with it. Features DAB radio plus standard FM. DAB is very good with crystal clear sound and easy station locator. MP3 and CD play back easy to use. Thought it might display the track/file info for MP3 playback but it doesn't. Not a huge loss. 2 aux inputs for whatever you want, currently have might connected to TV/DVD/Freeview and VHS throught the scart socket at the back of the TV. Makes watching films seem like you're at the cinema. Looks like seperates as the amp, tuner and CD/MP3 player all seperate units. Nice blue light that glows on the cd player add a touch of class. ...as in the previous review the sound quality for this unit is excellent and for the price you can't beat it. i got it new for 80 pounds sterling. but what surprised me most is that it is a separates system not a one piece micro, with 2 line in so you can expand the system with for example a dab tuner and/or record deck. the only complaint i have is the way mp3 tags are displayed it's crap and won't display the whole tag info.but that's a personal quibble.it alsohas a little clever feature,when you play mp3 Cds it reads so much of the disk then it stops saving the drive, i guess it must have somekind of buffer.a smart feature which other manufacures should look at doing if space is a premium or even price i don't think you will find anything that comes close. get it while you can as i don't think they will be around in stores for long... ...I had been after a Portable DVD player for a while but hadn't really seen one which caught my eye, until i found this one. It is small and light unlike all the other bulkier models that i have seen on the market. I had a look on their website and decided that this would be a reasonable investment. and i was right. The model is just perfect for what i need it for, its small enough to fit in a dash of a car but large enough for 2 people to watch with ease as it has a 7" widescreen TFT screen. You can even watch with head phones as there are 2 sockets on the side. It will play CD-R and CD-RW also JPEG and MP3. You can even connect it to a TV and it comes with all the cables to do so. The battery itself only last about 3 hours and takes 3 hours to charge although I'm sure you can purchase battery packs for it.... Read review
