Advantages flexibility, well built, looks, could be used as a mini amp
Disadvantages poor sound quality from CD player and speakers
I bought this for £80 witch is not bad for the spec. It looks great (it passed the mother in law test!) and is well built with solid brushed aluminum chassis, It has 2 audio inputs and the speakers can be changed as opposed to the Sony I was going to buy that had no inputs and like it or lump it speakers.
As for the sound well its a mixed bag, there's plenty of bass From the speakers but otherwise the sound is flat and the treble is poor so don't expect crisp hi hats. moreover the CD player is rather mediocre and you will find your favorite discs sounding a little different to how you remember but not in a good wayHowever as it has two AUX inputs you can plug in your own CD or DVD player to make up for the poor inbuilt one and its easy to change the speakers to improve the sound. In fact I Did and the sound is much better for it.
but be aware if your not to fussed on appearance you can just buy a amp and speakers for the same money (currently £120) that would sound Infinitely better. so this hi-fi is best bought were the size and appearance fits a niche and you don't mind spending a little extra to ditch the speakers.
