This little kit has to be the best piece of value for money I’ve found in ages, not that I’m mean or anything, but as I walked through my local branch of Dixons the other week I swear the thing winked at me to get my attention.

This is what you get for your £29.99 – hurry while stocks last!!

First, a rather sexy little CD player, very light and compact with a led display and ten second anti-shock. The DAP771 has a ¾ blue see-thru cover, which opens with the controls as part of the lid. The design is way better than many items costing tree times the money. The machine is only just bigger than a CD. Yes you’ve got it – I like it.

There is a bass boost setting, but no independent bass or treble adjustment – I can live without that. The basic sound reproduction is excellent with plenty of volume, although the loud button could be a bit bigger, as it is a bit elusive.

You can also programme individual tracks or whole cd’s. Thanks to Hitachi for providing a very concise instruction leaflet too.

But that’s not all people.

Second, the DAP771 comes with it’s own pair of speakers which run of the players’ power supply, OK they aren’t the best quality speakers you will find (what do you want for 30 notes?). They are fine for say, listening to your favourite CD in the bath!.

Third, and pretty obvious really comes a fairly decent pair of earphones – ‘nuff said.

Fourth, a mains adaptor for those extended listening sessions.

Good value so far, I think you will agree – but there’s more…….

Fifth and Sixth is what made me have to buy this little sucker:

Five is a power adaptor which plugs in to you cars’ cigarette lighter, freedom from batteries on the move.

Six is a tape cassette device which you slot in to the tape deck in your car and plug the other end into the output jack of the CD player – hey presto you have in car CD, and it works really well. Sensible time now, if you do use the car kit, don’t forget to remove it or hide it when you are not in the car, it only cost 30 quid but it will cost a whole lot more to repair your car from some chancer.

As I said at the top, the DAP 771 has to be one of the best value for money kits going, when I paid for mine, the guy at the counter tried to sell me additional warranty cover, he didn’t get it when I said “no thanks I’ll just buy another one at this price if it goes wrong”, he checked what he’d just rung up on the till and had to agree.

Does sound a real bargain, and a v good opinion.

This sounds like the sort of equipment that would be good for my young sons...Then if they do break it it won't break the bank to replace...Mandxx
