...'ve typed out the multi-region hack below - This hack also works on the Thomson DTH-3600, DTH-4000, DTH-4200 and DTH-4500 models, along with the Samsung DVD-709, DVD-809, DVD-909, DVD-511, DVD-611, DVD-811 and Hitachi DV-P305e On various Samsung models this hack will also disable Macrovision, but you have to turn off the Quasi-PAL option and set the SCART output type to Video rather than RGB. ...well what can i say its a 42 inch hitachi what could be better i personally have one of these and they are amazing the sounds is crisp and it has a brilliant viewing picture one of the best it has a gorgous design with the black around the tv screen to focus your eyes to the brilliant picture movies on this tv seem like your there when they are filming them its that good trust me so if u have the money and you want a brilliant tv this is the one for you so dont think that hitachi are rubbish tvs no more sony are so out hitachi and the best make tvs now the remotes are so simple to use and all your friends will definetly love this tv... Advantages: Swift, friendly and efficient service

...I feel i have to write this as i have just experienced the EXCELLENT customer service department of Hitachi. I won a 28" TV in a Sky Digital prize draw, with the TV being delevered direct from Hitachi. I was contacted to arrange a conveinient delivery time, which was met by the couriers. When the TV arrived it did not include a stand, and the TV was too big to go on the stand i already had. I rang Hitachi direct who advised the stand for the model TV i had won could be purchased direct from Hitachi for £24.95, which i thought was more than reasonable. They advised the address to send the cheque. I posted the chque and was amazed when the stand turned up within only 3 days of me posting the letter, not even enough time for them to make sure the cheque cleared.
