I haven't got a good coffee out of this machine yet, but I've barely used it and think I know where I'm going wrong; the wrong coffee.
A Good Espresso

As I understand it, a good espresso requires:
a strong coffee blend, ... ...the water forced through at pressure.
Temperature

This machines offers no thermostat to show you the temperature is correct but you turn it on and an orange light goes out when it's decided the temperature is right.
