I have recently purchased this tv having upgraded from a Samsung 32 in LCD.The Hitachi is light years ahead of the Samsung in terms of picture quality and sound quality.I am currently receiving normal digital broadcasts from SKY, I have to say the picture quality is fantastic, the colours are vibrant and best of all the screen shows no blockiness or poor image quality that the Samsung did. This proves itself, since setting up the Hitachi for the first time I have not altered any colour, brighness, or contrast settings. With the Samsung this was a daily ritual. To sum up, if you are considering buying a 42 in tv then do not consider anything else buy this I promise you wont be disappointed.
