I have had this TV for over a year now, and have loved every minute of it. I purchased this tv because it was the right price and the right features, including but not limited to 3 seperate HDMI High Definition inputs, True High Def (1080i), and picture quality. I currently have hooked to this machine my PS3 (HDMI), 2 seperate sattelite boxes (both using RGB input with fantastic picture quality), my VCR, and a HDDVD player (again with HDMI input). But let's get down to the true grit.
Packaging:
Large box with more than enough styrofoam padding to keep the set stable while in transit. Multiple screen protection, includding thin styrofoam sheet and plastic cling protector.
Setup:
Better get a 6-pack for this one, you WILL need a friend's help getting this into your entertainment center. Also, make sure you have a #2 phillips head screwdriver on hand as you will need to attatch either the base mount (with swivel) or the wall mount. Cable Connection is simple enough with every input/output marked CLEARLY.
Opperation:
The remote is simple and yet can controll many systems easily (including my remote controlled Air Conditioner [although I have found 4 other remotes that controll it as well, all on the setting for the equipment they came with lol]). The buttons are spaced appropriately, and very well organized. The menus are detailed and easily navigated (with on screen instructions of how to select, adjust value, or go back a screen). Changing inputs is as simple as 1: press "Inputs" button, 2: using the up and down arrows, select the input you wish to use, 3: press enter.
Picture and sound:
I found the picture to be VERY high quality, even when watching basic cable through a coax line. The adjustments for the picture quality (ie brightness, contrast, etc) can make it even more enjoyable. Also, no need to worry about sitting people along the side wall when watching a movie/program as the screen can be viewed with the same quality at up to an 80 degree angle in any direction. Sound quality was good (tested it briefly before running everything through my surround system) but I can't really comment much on that as the speakers pretty much never get used.
Warranty:
1 Yr. manufacturer's warranty, pretty standard,... as long as you aren't the one that messed it up, the'll fix/replace it. I am hapy to report that I have not yet had to test their service.
Overall:
Overall, I have found absolutely nothing that I dislike about this television set, the options are plentiful without being overly confusing, and the picture quality is far better than any other I have experienced.
The only real negative side to this set that I have found is that (like almost all other plasmas) if you leave a single picture up for too long, it will result in TEMPORARY immage burn, but I am happy to report that as I used the set more and more, this began to happen less and less. Also, unless you have let it set for far too long anyway (well over 3 hours without changing the picture) the immage burn does fade in a relatively short ammount of time, also, it is only really noticable up close with the set turned off.
I hope you have found this review inciteful and helpful in your purchacing process. I highly reccomend this set to any consumer looking for a high quality video component to add to their home theatre system.
