Advantages: light portable and nice and bright. Disadvantages: price
...I work for a middle school in Bedfordshire and have recently had the task of buying a projector for the ICT department and looked into a large range of models.
Our school ended up purchasing this model - the Hitachi CP-S225. Below I will note its advantages and disadvantages and other important details.
This is a good looking model with 1000 ANSI Lumens with a short throw lense, lamp with a 2000 hour lamp life, Digital keystone correction and it only weighs 2.4 kilo's.
The education price for this model was £1695 but I would expect it to be a little more at business price.

2. WEIGHT - at only 2.4 kilos this model is easily portable and easy to store. It's dimensions are only 298mm(W) * 60mm(H) * 210mm(D)

Advantages: Quiet, Short Throw, Good Bang for Buck Disadvantages: Not XGA, bit on the Big side, Screen Door effect
.../ doors in the adjoing rooms to the living room to achieve good viewing conditions. But in the Dark the picture is very bright with good contrast.
The connectors include component and S-Video connectors and should allow you to connect this Projector to almost anything.
The Lamp life is 2000 hours and a new bulb costs around £180.
The remote is easy to use and even glows in the dark, it has 5 preset video settings that allow you to easily change the brightness and contrast.
The remote also allows you to change from native 16:9 format to 4:3 and Wide settings. Keystone corrections are also easily accesssible from the remote.
My only complaint would be the "screendoor effect" which is comman on most LCD projectors. If you sit too close to the screen it looks (if you study the screen closely) as if you are looking through a wire...

Advantages: Looks Great - Very Stylish, Compact & Very Light. Disadvantages: Not Bright Enough At All
...The Toshiba TLP-S30 Projector
This projector is very aesthetically pleasing, it looks very modern and and the face of it looks to be a great projector.
There are several important factors to look at when considering buying a projector and that is the brightness. This projector boasts a 1400 lumen lamp. For those of you who aren't used to projector terminology, lumens are just a unit for the measure of how bright the bulb in a projector is (and lamp is just the correct term for a projector bulb) Now this isn't an amazing brightness, but the Sanyo PLC-SU20 (just as an example) works comfortably at 1200 lumens and around 1500 lumens is really what somebody new to projectors should probably be looking at.
So the brightness of this projector is good then you woul think. Well actually no; On paper the projector should perform very...
