We bought this after searching the web for steamers on offer. Currys had this one for £19.98 "half price". Interesting that Dixons, also a DSG company were selling the same item for £39.99 - October 2007.

The stainless steel base was what sold the item after the price and when we unpacked the steamer, all was well.

However, the arrangement of the bowls is not what we expected. Each of the 3 bowls is the same size and this does not allow for easy stacking. By this we mean that the bowls do not completely fit inside each other and the stacked height for storage is much higher than 1 bowl.

To use three bowls of the same size means that 2 of the bowls require adaptor rings to be fixed to the bottom - this allows them to fit onto the bowl underneath.

The plastic adaptor rings have to be removed in order to stack the bowls for storage - fiddly and we thought this was the worst feature of this steamer.

However, the large oval bowls give a total capacity which is more than enough for most family uses.

A simple timer of the mechanical type is fitted and goes up to 1 hour giving a bell ding when finished.

Compared to our last steamer, this is more powerful at 1000 watts and quickly boils the water which is in a large tank.

Food is cooked perfectly and the bowl assembly is easy to clean.
A rice cooking bowl is included too.

The instruction booklet contains all the necessary information EXCEPT for installation of the adaptor rings which is fiddly. A few cooking guides are included in the booklet.
