Advantages: Quite, low power consumption, high capacity Disadvantages: Expensive
I have been using a HitachiTravelStar for a long time now, I have had not problems with it and I have given it a good run for the price I paid for it.
I originally started out with the 80gb model of this hard disk. I had absolutely no problems with it. (I now have the 100gb model as the laptop it was in was broken in a car accident).
I had the 80gb model for a year and never gave me any trouble. It was:
· Fast
· Reliable
· Quite
· Super low power consumption
· Had a quick spin up time
· Very quick seek time
· Standard 5 year warranty
· Very helpful warranty/customer support
Hitachi's customer warranty claims support is like no other that I have come across before. You go onto there website, fill out a warrant claim form; package the device (hard disk in my case) in the way they require. Once you have sent it to them ...
Advantages: 6 times the space of the 20 GB version Disadvantages: Price is a little steep
Well, I just completed a week using the 120GB Xbox 360 hard drive, and I have to admit it was worth it!
The capacity, looks etc. all made it worth it, especially since for me it was free (got it from a friend).
I would recommend this to anyone who has a HDTV and wants to download his/her favorite movies.
With more and more movies coming out in HD (High definition) it is going to take more and more space (especially for longer movies such as The Dark Knight)
The only con I would see in this product is that it might be a little pricey for some people, but if you want a good product for your money and you're interested in saving your favorite movies, look no further! ...
Advantages: Stores a lot of music Disadvantages: Expensive
. The shuffle was not for me, as it does not have a screen and I wanted to watch videos. Quite cheap for about £25 ? but not what I wanted.
The next price range was the Nano with slightly more memory of 8-16 GB and with video function. Quite small and at about £80 ok in price.
Unfortunately it did not have enough memory for me, as I have thousands of tracks I like to listen to. So there it was, my new new baby:
The 6th generation Classic ? It has a whopping 120GB of Hard Disk memory. It plays video and of course music. I got it for £160 and it?s definitely worth it.
The instructions says it holds 30,000 songs or 150 hours of video. But this is just on average. It depends of course on the length of each song or movie.
I never used more than 82 of it. Which included 5231 songs and two short films.
The battery life is brilliant and I ...

Manufacturer's product description
Travelstar 5K320 is a 5400 RPM 2.5-inch hard drive with large capacities. The 160 GB per platter one- and two-disk models are designed for use in notebook PCs, set-top boxes, gaming consoles and other mobile applications. The 5K320 raises the standard for hard drive reliability with design enhancements that include altitude-sensing Thermal Fly-height Control (TFC), an improved actuator latch and fourth generation perpendicular magnetic recording (PMR) head technology. Along with the attention to ruggedness, Hitachi continues to deliver excellent performance and low-power leadership. Designed to support the multi-tasking needs of consumers and commercial users balancing mobile computing and movies, music, photos and games on the go, Travelstar 5K320 delivers the right capacity and performance options to meet the needs of IT and consumer electronics manufacturers.Travelstar 5K320 features optional Bulk Data Encryption (BDE) with a SATA 1.5 Gb/s interface for hard-drive-level data security. The data is scrambled using a key as it is written to the disk then descrambled with the key as it is retrieved, giving users a higher level of data protection than traditional password-based security previously available. Another benefit is that it speeds and simplifies the drive re-deployment process. By deleting the encryption key, the data on the drive is rendered unreadable, thereby eliminating the need for time-consuming data-overwrite.Hitachi provides enhanced-availability models that employ specific microcode to allow the Travelstar 5K320 to deliver 24 x 7 access to data. These models broaden the product line to make it more suitable for data-intensive applications requiring round-the-clock operation. The 5K320 provides high capacity, performance, durability and efficient power utilization on a proven platform for quality and reliability. EA models support the stringent demands of "always-on" applications in lower-transaction environments.
