and click 'get album artwork' - this did take a while... but worked! Whilst coverflow looks nice I don't think it adds extra functionality to the IPod... more a space draining quirk! It does look awesome though ;-)
Sound playback is the usual high standard - but this is really down to you, the user - I have all my imported (off CD) music set to apple loss-less. Which will take up more space, but with 160 GIGS to play with... it is not a great deal more! It must be said - the headphones supplied are useless... get some Sennheiser CX300 - the added clarity is noticeable - and you do not need it as loud! The hat trick is that the ear buds stay in my ear when I am working out.
Video playback; to test this I ripped Family Guy from dvd to IPod using the ImToo software package. Quality was good - but KILLS your battery! So not ideal ...

I have been using a HitachiTravelStar for a long time now, I have had not problems with it and I have given it a good run for the price I paid for it.
I originally started out with the 80gb model of this hard disk. I had absolutely no problems with it. (I now have the 100gb model as the laptop it was in was broken in a car accident).
I had the 80gb model for a year and never gave me any trouble. It was:

The 5K320 raises the standard for hard drive reliability with design enhancements that include altitude-sensing Thermal Fly-height Control (TFC), an improved actuator latch and fourth generation perpendicular magnetic recording (PMR) head technology. Travelstar 5K320 features optional Bulk Data Encryption (BDE) with a SATA 1.5 Gb/s interface for hard-drive-level data security. Another benefit is that it speeds and simplifies the drive re-deployment process.
