Advantages: Light, extra features, good quality, memory, media support. Disadvantages: Not really any.
Well it's a touchscrene for a start. It is amazingly easy to navigate, sporting a well-designed title menu. Furthermore, there isn't really an instalation process, it's pretty much just turn it on and off you go.

It certainly looks cool. This actually turns heads when you're using it on a bus or train, and I've even had the odd brave person come over and ask what it is and what it does.

Range of Features
Pretty good, it has:
*More memory than you, or at least I, will ever use with 320GB storing up to 400 movies, 3.2 million photos, or 190,000 songs. I mean who gets time to watch 400 movies or listen to 190,000 songs? and as for 3.2 million photos...
*A die-hard battery, playing 39 hours music and 10 hours video playback time on a single charge.
* Video support for MPEG-4, M-JPEG and even ...

I have been using a HitachiTravelStar for a long time now, I have had not problems with it and I have given it a good run for the price I paid for it.
I originally started out with the 80gb model of this hard disk. I had absolutely no problems with it. (I now have the 100gb model as the laptop it was in was broken in a car accident).
I had the 80gb model for a year and never gave me any trouble. It was:
· Fast
· Reliable
· Quite
· Super low power consumption
· Had a quick spin up time
· Very quick seek time
· Standard 5 year warranty
· Very helpful warranty/customer support
Hitachi's customer warranty claims support is like no other that I have come across before. You go onto there website, fill out a warrant claim form; package the device (hard disk in my case) in the way they require. Once you have sent it to them ...

The 5K320 raises the standard for hard drive reliability with design enhancements that include altitude-sensing Thermal Fly-height Control (TFC), an improved actuator latch and fourth generation perpendicular magnetic recording (PMR) head technology. Designed to support the multi-tasking needs of consumers and commercial users balancing mobile computing and movies, music, photos and games on the go, Travelstar 5K320 delivers the right capacity and performance options to meet the needs of IT and consumer electronics manufacturers. Travelstar 5K320 features optional Bulk Data Encryption (BDE) with a SATA 1.5 Gb/s interface for hard-drive-level data security. The data is scrambled using a key as it is written to the disk then descrambled with the key as it is retrieved, giving users a higher level of data protection than traditional password-based security previously available. Another benefit is that it speeds and simplifies the drive re-deployment process. By deleting the encryption key, the data on the drive is rendered unreadable, thereby eliminating the need for time-consuming data-overwrite.
