Douglas Adams is a genius. He really is. Even if he does use an Apple Mac... Hitch hiker's guide to the galaxy is the book which made him famous. Indeed, it's such a well loved story that it's been a radio script, a TV show, and maybe will become a film. The books are the definitive version of the story, coming in a trilogy of 5 books.. hmm.. yep.. that's a triology. The main character is Arthur Dent, an ape descended life form who still thinks digital watches are a pretty neat idea. His best mate, Ford Prefect, is an alien from a small planet somewhere in the vicinity of Beetleguese, and not from Guildford after all. The earth is destroyed by the Vogons (a callous
green bogey man race) to make way for a hyperspace bypass... just before the the Earth was going to finish what it was there to do all this time. I won't give it away, otherwise the mice won't be best pleased. I love Douglas Adams' writing style, it's witty, and somewhat nerdy at the same time. As well as the Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy
