Funny how some things change over time and some things don't. I have just read the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy yet again, and then read the opinion that i wrote about a year ago. My opinion of the book haven't changed one bit. I still think it is a mantra in basic philosophy and something every person SHOULD read, even if it is not your type of thing. I must have bought about 10 plus copies of the book over the last 5 years to give to friends. When i get to know someone, the words "You just have to read this book..." almost automatically follows. And then i usually run to the shop and buy one for them as a gift with a page long inscription of how much I have enjoyed it, and hoping the reader will too. It was a very sad day for me when I heard of the death of Douglas Adams. I really felt as though he was writing for me, and as if there would always be a constant supply of his reading material. My favourite caracter in the book is the little green immortal alien that goes around insulting people in alphabetical order. My final thought for Mr Adams: It would have been an honour to be insulted by an immortal you if it meant being able to read books for all eternity!
