Full review
Now you people are going to think that I never do anything exiting with my life, because until now I haven’t been a keen book reader! I am writing this review because I have just finished perhaps the best book I have ever read before EVER!
Now if anybody has read any of my previous reviews (please do I need the points) you will probably think that most of the things that I write about are utter rubbish and deserve to be thrown out. However this time I have decided to write about something that can actually be called a subject.

I think that Douglas Adams is great and the kind of person that I would have liked because of his wit. Until now I hadn’t really paid that much attention to The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, (Note to self – copy and paste that because it takes ages to type.) either on the television or the original series on BBC radio 2. I wouldn’t have even thought of reading the book until my uncle brought it for me as a present. (I was expecting a PS2 game or something) However, now I am totally glad that he did because it is the first book that I have read in ages that hasn’t been in school etc.

I think that Douglas Adams’ writing style is tremendous, because he deals not just with humour, but also with suspense. I cannot really tell you anything about his other novels, apart from the fact that I will try my damn hardest to read them if it is the last thing that I do on this planet. OR as the case may be on any other planet for that matter.

Although the book is incredibly long, it doesn’t really seem to put anybody off, because after the first 3 or so pages you cant seem to put the book down, because you just cant wait to see what happens next. The book is full of little surprises, and many BIG surprises, but I don’t want to say too much in case I give anything away. You will just have to read it for yourselves.

As it stands the trilogy of 5 books consists of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, The Restaurant at the End of the Universe, Life - the Universe and Everything,
So Long and Thanks for All the Fish, and Mostly Harmless.

So, without giving too much of the story away I will try to tell you a little of what it is about. The book begins with the depressed complainer Arthur Dent, who is trying to stop his house being demolished in order to build a bypass over it. Then his friend Ford Prefect, an alien from outer space tries to help Arthur by slowing down the process of demolition. He, however has just told his good friend that the earth is going to be destroyed in 5 minutes, to build a super space highway. So Arthur’s house isn’t that important at all. AND I AM GOING TO STOP THERE!! You will just have to read the book to find out more! I really don’t want to spoil the plotline because it is a fantastic book that just has to be read.
You will be both shocked, and surprised by this book!

So the book that I have has 775 pages and cost £14.99 from WHSmiths. I seemed to find myself reading over some pages more than once, I dint know whether this was because I was totally oblivious to what was happening in the book, or if it was so fantastic that I wanted to read it twice!

So in conclusion, BUY THIS BOOK!!!!!

Well thanks for reading! Uncle Slug
