Hitman bloodmoney for the Xbox 360 is the third game in the hitman series but the first that has been released on the 360. The game puts you back in the shoes of Agent 47, a clone designed specifically to be an assassin. The game is a series on flash backs that are narrated by an FBI agent, these narration give his account of what happened on a specific day and then you get to play it from Agent 47's perspective. these all lead up to an exciting climax but i wont give that away here!

The game mechanics are pretty good with a intuitive control system that provides a good range of context sensitive commands. This combined with a variety of upgradeable and collectible weapons provides many ways of eliminating your target, of course the aim of the game is to reach your target undetected kill them and leave silently, this is facilitated by the ability to disguise yourself with any uniforms that other characters in the level are wearing. This is done by sedating or killing them taking their clothes and hiding the body.

The targets you find yourself up against in the game can be eliminated in a variety of ways from running in all guns blazing to poisoning their drinks and even sabotaging equipment to make their deaths look like an accident. The incentive in the game to keep you from just shooting everything that moves is that the less your detected and the less people you kill the more money you will earn thus letting you buy upgrades for your weapons and equipment. On the flip side to this if you kill a lot of people your notoriety will increase making it harder to complete subsequent levels as if you have a high notoriety you will be instantly recognized by guards and shot!

The game offers a lot of replay value as there are many ways to complete each level and if you want to discover them all it will take you a large chunk of time! The achievements system for the game is good too with many secret achievement to complete again getting all of them will take you a while if you want to increase your gamer points by the full 100 available.

The only thing i can find that lets the game down is the graphics, not to say that they are bad but they could have been a whole lot better. the textures and lighting are similar to that of the PS2 version the only marked improvement is the resolution making objects more defined. This is somewhat of a disappointment but doesnt detract from the game experience itself.

If your looking for a game that is different to anything else out there there then this will give you a lot of satisfaction and is a worthwhile purchase.
8/10
